I (Mim) just talked to Dave. He just left the hospital. Right now they are giving the baby a 10% chance. Every day they can keep Amy from delivering her will increase her chances. They are giving Amy magnesium which will lesson the chance of the baby having Cerebal Palsey. (This is a new thing)
They are also giving her steroids which will help if she can keep the baby inside for 24 hours. She is having some contractions but once they stop the magnesium that may get worse. They can only do the mag. for 12 hours so that time is about up.
The baby doesn't have much fluid. They are very concerned about infection. If they find that the baby has infection they will induce. They have mothers who have come in like this and been able to last 10 weeks. That would be a best case scenerio, I imagine! Amy is very much aware of what they could be facing since she works with these babies all the time. There are actually a couple in the NICU that are this size now. (i am sure Debbie could enlighten us)
David said that Amy and Robert are strong. Of course they all want us to pray!

WOW! I can't imagine what they're going through. I guess the one comfort one could have in a time like this is that God is in control of everything. We will be sure to remember them in our prayers
