Our Gatlinburg Trip

Duane and I obviously had a great time with great friends from church! It was nice to reconnect! Duane had a GREAT time with a few pranks (no, he didn't do them all!).I am sorry for any inconviences he may have caused! Especially to Michelle, they tried to get him back by putting sugar and flour in our bed (0n my side) and they also took our sheets off of our bed. But, they didn't communicate very well because they took the sheets off and then put the sugar and flour in our bed (on my side). Duane and I made the bed and didn't see the four and sugar on the mattress pad. When we got up; they asked us how we slept. We told them fine and that is when they realized that we didn't get flour or sugared. We checked all of the empty beds-no mess. We were sort of paniced because we knew it was somewhere and didn't want the cleaning lady to find it. We found it on our bed under the covers. Poor Michelle had to stay a little later to clean up the mess. I still feel you guys owe Duane-not me!!!:>)

Duane and I got there Thursday night around 9:00p.m.. We had a great time staying up,playing games and chit chatting. I don't think we went to bed until 2:30a.m..

Friday, Michelle and Randy started the day (8:30 a.m.) with a great devotional! After the devotional we headed off to the Pancake Pantry for some delious breakfast!!
Thankfully we had a little drive to our next destination-a 11 mile bike ride UP and down HUGE hills. I really enjoyed the wonderful senery! Duane and I were really hoping to see some bear; but no luck just some deer and a coyote!

:>( Once we got back to the cabin some of us ladies jumped into the hot tub! That felt wonderful!! Later that night we enjoyed dinner at "No way Jose" and the guys (and some ladies) played laser tag while the rest of us ladies went shopping in downtown Gatlinburg.

Saturday, Brian and Janella started the day with devotions (9:30 a.m.). After the encouraging devotional we were all going to go eat at "The Old Mill" but the wait was over an hour. So we split up and had breakfast at different places. That day some people went horse back riding-which sounded good. But some were going to the Outlet Malls and that sounded better!!! So, some of us ladies went to the outlet malls and the guys went to the Go Carts. Duane wants to say thanks to the guys for the bruises!!! He still has a HUGE one on his arm!!! Late that night we went to the Comedy Barn. Drew got picked to go up and be a ventriloquist. What a fun night.

Sunday, Wilma and Wayne gave a great devotional to the few that was awake. It was sad to leave all of the great friends and fun cabin. I was SOOOO ready to see my boys! Thank you Mom and dad for watching the boys! We really appreciate it! I also want to think Heather for watching the boys Friday afternoon (my mom wasn't able to get off). I am sorry you had a rough day. Michael is also sorry for bruising Connor's eye. When Michael is in his MOOD; WATCH OUT!!! I am having to sit hard on him! Especially since I have been back!

Monday, we were out getting paint. Michael took several paintbrushes out. I asked him to put them away. He threw himself on the floor kicking and screaming; "NO,NO." I picked him up and marched him to the car and disciplined him. We went back into the store; I asked him again to put the paintbrushes back and he graciously obeyed. The store clerk said, " Wow, whatever you said in the car really worked. If he only knew!! Unfortunately that happened two more times and Michael received the same consequence. He is re-testing me.

Thanks everyone for a great time!!!Click on this pic to see more pictures!!!

Don't worry about the sheets! I'm glad we had a washer and dryer.:o) We will have to get together and plan something extra special for Mark! Thanks for putting up with us hogging the bathroom and bumping around early in the morning, we could not have had better roommates. Now Randy wants a sound machine! What a fun weekend!

Fun! Fun! Fun! I still can laugh out loud when I think about rounding the stairs and seeing that matress out on the deck. That was so funny. And, Janella was a good sport. She just said - "Is my matress really out on the deck?" I'm laughing again. Glad you guys were there.
